Bodyscan CRMBike fit is the most important variable in selecting or perfecting your bicycle. Whether you want more comfort, more efficient pedaling, the perfect frame size, injury prevention or all of the above, there's nothing more effective than a correct fit. Where other fitting methods rely on personal opinion, cycling mythology or hastily-taken tape measurements, the Body Scanning CRM uses the latest technology to indicate fit based on your exact measurements. This system is tried and tested and is widely used in the USA and in Europe. For further information and testimonials, please click here. The site will open in a new window. We have included a simple online fitting system for you to try here, but this is not a substitute for a really accurate fitting. OK, so how does it work?
The Laser Measuring Module takes five measurements from different locations in a completely non-invasive procedure that won't hurt and doesn't even require anyone to touch you. After we take the measurements the computer goes to work and Body Scanning CRM turns out the optimal measurements for your bicycle. These can then be matched to cycles that we have available from our suppliers, to see which have got the right bike for you ... Advantages of Body Scanning CRM Whilst your last bike may have fit adequately without a fit like this, Body Scanning takes the "maybe" and guesswork out of the equation. The detailed calculations accurately gauge your body dimensions and factor in your riding style. Added to experience, we can use this information to help and advise you in making your riding more comfortable, and more enjoyable. With Body Scanning CRM, every one of our experienced employees can provide you not only with the correct fit, but also the advice that will help you make the most of that fit. The process is also as quick and easy as it is efficient. There's no need to wear special clothes or subject yourself to hours of measurement. In most cases you don't even need to remove your shoes! Sounds great! So it's going to cost the earth, right? The Body Scanning initial consultation, during which we actually take the measurements and match you to your ideal bike, take notes on the intended use and come up with initial suggestions on a fitness regime to help you acheive your objectives costs from just £50.00 ... this includes small adjustments to a new bike, such as setting an accurate saddle height, or reach, changing the handlebar stem. If we have to do more extensive work on the bike - say a complete change of handlebars, or a change of forks to allow a much higher riding position, then we charge £20.00 per hour labour on these changes. In most cases, it will be unusual to have to carry out the more expensive alterations to a bike to allow it to fit you exactly, so the costs of being fitted to your bike with Body Fitting CRM are modest in relation to the gains in comfort and efficiecy that you can expect. Simple Online Fitting System How to use our simple online fitting system: Using the method shown in the diagram below, measure your inside leg (inseam), with bare feet placed about 6" (150mm) apart, the length of your torso and the length of your arm to the wrist. This is probably most easily done with the help of a second person!
Enter the information into the relevant boxes in the table and click on "Go" ... the position of your saddle, length of the top tube and stem and a suggested frame size on which you might acheive these dimensions will be given. The saddle height that the calculation gives you is from the centre of the lower pedal spindle to the flat of the saddle when the crank is in line with the seat tube, measured up the line of crank, seat tube and seatpost. This accounts automatically for different length cranks. The saddle height needs to be adjusted according to the pedal and shoe that you use - as a rule of thumb, trainers and flat pedals or "rat-traps" need 3cm adding, users of Look or SPD systems will need to add approx 1.5cm, and users of Time or Campagnolo ProFit will need to add 1cm. The results given are advisory only - we would emphasise the value of a formal fitting with the BodyScanning apparatus |
