Frequent Delivery Questions

I submitted an order for APC Guranteed Next Day Delivery after 12PM (GMT), will I still receive my item tomorrow?

Any orders processed after 12PM for APC Overnight Tracked Delivery cannot be guaranteed a next working day arrival. Instead it is more likely that you will recieve your order within 1-2 working days.

If I have purchased a bike, will I need to build it myself?

Yes. Any bikes purchased will not be shipped fully assembled. We recommend that you find your local qualified bike mechanic and request that they build the item for you to ensure that your manufacturer's warranty is not void. Any mechanical work undertaken by an unqualified individual will instantly void your warranty.

How can I tighten the handlebars on my bike?

Most products require an Alan Key to tighten the handlebars. This can be found either on the top of the stem or on the side of the stem behind the handlebars whereas other models require a spanner to tighten their handlebars. If you are unsure, give us a call and we will talk you through this stage.

If I purchase accessories, will they come fitted to the bike?

No, we will ship any accessories with your bike however they will not come fitted to the bike. Please be aware that not all accessories will fit onto a bike due to its geometry (for example a bottle cage). If you would like to check before you purchase, please contact us using this link, or call us on 0208 300 8113.

Returns Policy

When a purchase is made from Sidcup Cycle Centre, it is the customer's sole responsibility to keep a record of the sale. Customers have 14 days after the date shown on the receipt to return the item for a full refund and 30 days to exchange or request a refund in the value of account credit or gift vouchers. The customer must return the item with the original transaction/gift receipt. The item's packaging must be in the original condition supplied and the manufacturer's warranty still valid, otherwise the returns policy is void.

Customers who have left a deposit for a bicycle have formed a contract with Sidcup Cycle Centre under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 and The Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002. In the event that a customer wishes to cancel their order, Sidcup Cycle Centre may exercise it's right to withhold 10% of the value of the bicycle or the whole deposit (whichever is the lesser value).

Frequent Returns Questions

Can I return a bike?
Yes, in alignment with our returns policy, customers have 14 days to request a refund and 30 days to request an exchange or refund in the form of account credit or gift vouchers. This is dependent on the product being received by Sidcup Cycle Centre in the original condition that the product was sold in. It is entirely Sidcup Cycle Centre's decision as to whether or not the product meets these requirements once the goods are received.

How should I package my bike?
Bike's must be sent back as one whole item. We would recommend where possible for customers to use the box that the bike was shipped out in. We will accept bikes that have the handlebars turned around and the pedals removed, so long as the pedals are left in the box. It is recommended that the pedals be wrapped in a box or a bag to protect them from damage whilst in transit.

How do I ensure I do not void my manufacturer's warranty?
All manufacturer's clearly state in their warranty information that any mechanical work is to be carried out by a trained and licensed professional. All mechanics at Sidcup Cycle Centre have been trained and are qualified to carry out various levels of mechanical adjustments and services to bikes however if a customer wishes to assemble a product themselves or to attempt to make adjustments to parts, the warranty will be void and neither Sidcup Cycle Centre nor the manufacturer can be held accountable for the damage to any products or any harm caused as a result of the customer's own adjustments. If you are unsure on how to make minor adjustments such as raising the saddle, call our store and someone will talk you through the steps you need to take.

I purchased additional products that have come fitted to the bike, shall I remove them before returning the product?

You should remove additional accessories without touching or adjusting any parts or components on the bike. Any additional accessories that require specialist tools or knowledge Sidcup Cycle Centre will remove once we have received the goods and thereafter we will ship them back to the original delivery address on the order. Any products that are on the bike that you do not wish to return will be shipped back to you when we receive the goods at the return address. This will be at the customer's cost and the goods will not be shipped back until Sidcup Cycle Centre can confirm that a payment has been made for the postage and packaging of goods that you do not wish to return.

How long do I have to return product?
In alignment with our returns policy, customers have 14 days to request a refund and 30 days to request an exchange or refund in the form of account credit or gift vouchers. This is dependent on the product being received by Sidcup Cycle Centre in the original condition that the product was sold in. It is entirely Sidcup Cycle Centre's decision as to whether or not the product meets these requirements once the goods are received.

I have lost parts from the product I wish to return, can I still return this item for a refund if I send it back within 14 days?
No, in alignment with our returns policy any goods that customers wish to return either within 14 or 30 days of the sale must be returned in the original condition sold.
